Northstar Commuter Rail
The Northstar Commuter Rail line connects Big Lake to downtown Minneapolis, where it also connects to the Hiawatha Light-Rail Transit line.
The Counties Transit Improvement Board has committed to funding 50% of the operating subsidy for the Northstar Commuter Rail Project.
The Northstar Commuter Rail Project has received $9.9 million for the construction of the Fridley Commuter Rail Station, $1 million for the planning for the Ramsey Commuter Rail Station, and $15.2 million in operating grants.
