The Southwest Light Rail Transit line will connect Eden Prairie to downtown Minneapolis, via Minnetonka, Hopkins, and St. Louis Park. A draft of the Environmental Impact Statement and approval to enter Preliminary Engineering is scheduled to be completed in 2010.

The Southwest Corridor LIght Rail Transit Project has received $19.2 million in capital grants.
