The Metropolitan Council is developing a network of transitways to move more people more efficiently to destinations across the region. This system includes light rail, such as the existing Hiawatha Line and the new line being built between Minneapolis and St. Paul. It also includes bus rapid transit (BRT) service that will offer frequent, reliable service at stations along I-35W South, Cedar Avenue and other high-demand corridors in the future.
The Counties Transit Improvement Board today awarded $148.9 million in grants for projects covering the full spectrum of transitway development across the region.
