Transit Advocacy Video from Move LA: “LA’s Got Lines”
Move LA produced the video, “LA’s Got Lines,” to show-case the current and future LA transit system. Due to dedicated funding passed by voters in 2008 (Measure R), Los Angeles is building an ambitious expansion of its transit system: a virtual doubling of the transitway system from 120 miles and 103 stations to 236 miles and 200 stations. A total of 12 rail and bus rapid transit lines will be built by 2030.
Because of LA’s dedicated transit funding, three lines are under construction at the same time for the first time in Southern California: Expo to Santa Monica, the Gold Line to Azusa, the Orange Line to Chatsworth. Two more lines are due to begin construction soon--the Crenshaw Line and downtown LA Regional Connector. Soon five lines will be under construction at the same time.
Move LA's mission is to build a broad constituency that will advocate for the development of a comprehensive, diverse, robust, clean, and financially sound public transportation system for Los Angeles County and champion strategies to accelerate its implementation.
