Cedar Avenue Bus Rapid Transit
The Cedar Avenue Bus Rapid Transit line will connect Lakeville, Apple Valley, Eagan, and Bloomington to downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. Bus rapid transit express service began in 2009 and station-to-station service is scheduled to begin in fall 2012.
The Counties Transit Improvement Board has committed to funding 30.9% of the capital cost of constructing bus shoulders and funding 50% of the operating subsidy for the Cedar Avenue Bus Rapid Transit Project.
The Cedar Avenue Bus Rapid Transit project has received nearly $23.1 million in capital grants and nearly $500,000 in operating grants.
